World’s first ‘Gourmet Water Bar’ opens in Dubai

Aqua Water Bar by Luqel pitches itself as Dubai’s first ‘gourmet water bar’. Offering 30 different types of water, the café-like venue has just opened in Dubai Media City.

With drinks selections with names such as: ‘natural beauty’; ’recovery’; and ‘kick start’, each of the water-based drinks claims to have different properties.

Created by water sommeliers, the drinks are designed to suit customer’s needs and mood. For example, ‘runner’s heaven’ helps to hydrate (more than usual water), post-run.

The water blends are created by altering the balance of H2O – so the water tastes and performs differently due to variable calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium, chloride and sulphate levels.

Operated by German water filtration company Luqel, Aqua Water Bar prides itself on supplying water without harmful chemicals or plastic bottles.
