WE – Organisational Changes

November 30, 2016

At the Watercoolers General Meeting in Paris it was all change at the top!  After two years of Chairmanship, John Dundon of Angel Springs in the UK, stepped down and Derek Callaghan of Icon Technology Systems, formerly the Vice Chairman and Chairman of the International Suppliers & Fair Committee was voted in as Chairman.

Derek graduated at the University of Limerick with a degree in Business Studies. His career in the watercooler industry began in 2001 when he joined Oasis, Ireland as their Sales Manager for Central & Eastern Europe. From there he joined SIP Technologies as their European Sales Director and after ten successful years with SIP he joined ICON Technology Services in May 2016 to head up their EMEA Water Filtration business.

Throughout his time in the industry Derek has been very active with WE and its previous incarnation EBWA, chairing the Suppliers Committee for many years as well as being the Suppliers representative on the WE Executive Council.  Visit his first interview as Chairman to get his plans and vision for WE in the future.

Our new Vice Chairman, Michal Zys of Get Fresh, Poland was also accepted by the General Meeting.

Michal has a Master Degree in Water Engineering at Warsaw University of Technology. He started his career in this business 11 years ago in Nestle Waters.  Since that time Michał has worked in many operational positions at all levels of Management. In 2012 he joined the Polish Watercooler Association as a Board Member and Technical Committee leader, becoming Chairman in 2014. Michal joined the WE Executive Council in 2015.

The Executive Committee (EXECO) was also plased to welcome AFIFAE Chairman Robert Kadijevic from Chateaud’eau, Peter Hogervorst from Dolphin and Caroline Elliot from Crystal Mountain.

The Standards & Technical Committee was delighted that Damien Saleur, Eden Springs stepped forward as Chairman of this Committee, and finally Caroline Elliot from Crystal Mountain replaced Derek Callaghan as Chairperson of the International Suppliers and Fair Committee.  Full information can be found on the WE website:  http://watercoolerseurope.eu/index.php/structure
