WE News Roundup: Dusseldorf 12 April 2016
April 29, 2016
At the EXECO meeting the Council received the news that Michael Barnett, who has worked so tirelessly for Watercoolers Europe and the watercooler industry as a whole, had resigned from WE and as Treasurer. He was thanked whole heartedly for his unique contribution and it was agreed that he be presented with an Honorary Membership.
Similarly, Yariv Shapira, Eden Springs announced that he too was stepping down after many years’ service to the Council. In his place, he recommended Jean-Marc Bolinger, Managing Director of Eden Kafevend in the UK who has extensive knowledge of the industry, to represent Eden Springs as a pan-European member. Jean-Marc’s nomination was put forward at the AGM and approved.
The Education and Audit Committee have been working hard with NSF to formulate standard WE training courses that can be adopted by National Associations. The following are therefore now approved by WE and available for National Associations to use.
- Hygiene Awareness Course
- Bottled Water Plant Operator Course
- Distributors Course (Bottled water and POU)
We are all looking forward to the 2016 WE event in Paris (19 – 21 October 2016) but WE are already organised for 2017 – so put 24 – 26 October 2017 in Krakow, Poland in your diary. The organisers have been working closely with Michael Zys, PLBWA Chairman and arrangements are already advanced.
