Update from Brussels – WE POU Code of Practice

Gustav Felix, Director General of WE, continues his work to get the POU Code of Practice registered by Brussels at the European Union level.

This important document, drafted by Alex Mezquida of L’Or, is fundamental to WE’s on-going pursuit to continually raise the bar on our industry’s quality.

At a recent meeting in Brussels, Gustav agreed a path to progress with his European Union colleagues. This includes meeting representatives from the 28 member states and making appropriate presentations to them on the work of WE and why our POU Code of Practice will benefit our members, our industry and most importantly our consumers.

After an appropriate consultation period we would hope that we could have an endorsement of our Code of Practice before the end of this year.

This would be a fantastic achievement by all concerned and is further proof of the hard work being done behind the scenes to help safeguard our industry for the long term.
