THIS WEEK IN BERLIN! Last Chance to attend this years’ BIG Watercoolers Europe EVENT!
October 15, 2013
This year marks the 20th Anniversary of Watercoolers Europe. Twenty years of a history full of challenges which at times threatened the very existence of the European water cooler industry.
Now, twenty years later what started as a European group of bottlers and distributors of water coolers with a common interest has evolved into Watercoolers Europe, an association of associations. With a seat in Brussels, WE is the voice of the industry lobbying the EU Commission and embracing the whole of the water cooler industry from bottles to point-of-use.
Our venue for 2013 is Berlin - the capital and Germany’s largest city with a population of 3.5 million residents from over 180 nations. Since first documented in the 13th century, Berlin was the capital of the “Kingdom of Prussia”, the “German Empire” and in the 1920s Berlin was the third largest municipality in the world.
We all know the history of World War II, the division of the city between East and West Berlin and the Berlin Wall. Following German reunification in 1990, the city regained its status as the capital of Germany and became a world city of culture, politics, science and convention venues.
Berlin’s history has left the city with an amazing array of architecture, buildings and museums: Brandenburg Gate, the Reichstag, the Red City Hall, Potsdamer Platz, Gendarmenmarkt with the Franzoesischer and Deutscher Dom, Cathedral, Humbold University, Holocaust Memorial, Victory Column and many others. All these points of interest are highly recommended for a visit.
The WE Berlin event will continue our longstanding commitment to develop the bridges between West and East Europe - another symbol of Berlin. Important steps in this direction have already been made in WE and we will continue to pursue them in current and future eyars.
The WE Conference and Fair in Berlin will update us all on the latest market expectations. After the economic downturn of recent years and emergent environmental concerns, the installed base of bottled water coolers and point-of- use is finally experiencing the beginnings of a return to healthy growth driven by the key benefits of convenience and healthy hydration.
New products, new ideas, new marketing tools can all be part of your new future. So, don’t rest on your laurels, join us in Berlin and meet new prospects, new suppliers, old and new colleagues, listen to and see the latest developments and innovations in your industry and in your geographical region and for sure you will find some solutions to your specific challenges.
This year WE is also acting as host and opened its 20th Anniversary event and celebration to our long-standing friends and colleagues of the Asian & Middle East Association and Japanese Association. A bridge between Europe and Asia that will give all participants a unique opportunity to meet new prospects, new suppliers, new colleagues and listen to relevant developments and successes of another continent.
For all the good reasons mentioned above, please come to Berlin and join us in celebrating Watercoolers Europe’s 20th Anniversary and take this great opportunity to combine business with pleasure.
Don’t stay home, you have to be there and I am counting on you.
See you in Berlin.
