Marc Parera, Blue Planet – New ADEAC Chairman

April 29, 2016

The Spanish Association, ADEAC, met for its 2016 AGM on 14th March in Barcelona.
In 2015 the watercooler industry developed positively in Spain and membership of ADEAC remains steady. Members were hopeful that this Industry Meeting would increase the number of members and awareness of the Association.

Bottled Watercoolers continued to play a major role in Spain in the number of customers as well as in revenue. Point of Use coolers numbers were not increasing as in other West European Countries, covering less than 4% of installations in Spain. However, the figures do not cover the number of drinking fountains which are spread throughout Spain.

After end of year accounts reporting and approval of the 2016 Budget, Members  elected the new Chairman, Marc Parera, Director General of Blue Planet.

Gustav Felix, WE Director General represented WE at the meeting and gave a presentation on European Market developments as well as on BPA and on-going regulatory work.

ADEAC sees the relevance of coffee machines as add-on business to water dispensers and invited the coffee machine supplier SAECO to give a presentation of their products, with a final presentation on the development of new materials for cups.
