Levi’s and Water.org Encourage Customers to be Concerned About Water
April 12, 2012
Almost a trillion people do not have access to drinkable water, so Levi’s has decided to work actively on the water issue. During the celebration of World Water Day, the firm has - among numerous other initiatives - used HOD bottles to dress its shop windows.
Since March 22nd —World Water Day—, Levi's® and Water.org have combined their efforts in order to encourage people to ‘Go Water >Less’ through a creative and original marketing campaign. By visiting http://store.levi.com/waterless/, customers are informed on the necessity of being concerned about care for the environment. Web users learn little steps to take to reduce the amount of water they use every day.
Go Water >Less Challenges
The website of Levi's Strauss & Co, the leading jeans company, suggests challenges to the visitors along the lines of saving water and caring for the environment. The participant will also be able to take part in some of the drives. Shower, Wash, Flush, Plastic… are some of the titles classified under the challenges. By taking part, participants are supporting the Water.org work supplying drinkable water all over the world.
Jeans Levi's® Water>Less?
The Water>Less jeans from Levi’s have reduced the water used during the finishing process by 96%. More than 13 million Water>Less products have already been completed, with more than 172 million litres of water saved. And this is only the beginning!
This summer, Levi’s jeans launches a wide range of products for which the production process has used less water. The finishing process is changed and by adding ozone and reducing the number of cycles on washing machines Levi’s is able to show a major decrease of their water consumption.
