BWCA supports ‘Just a Drop’ Charity

September 29, 2016

Earlier this year, the BWCA launched its charity partnership with ‘Just a Drop’ to provide drinking water to communities in developing countries.  At their March Annual Conference over £10,000 was raised through various Member activities and a charity auction at the Gala Dinner.  This funded a borehole project in Kalungwishi village in Zambia, which is now being finalised in their dry season and will be ready very shortly.

‘Just a Drop’ Founder Fiona Jeffrey OBE said:  “We are very excited to welcome the British Water Cooler Association as one of our new partners.  This partnership will make a positive and significant difference to the people of Kalungwishi who will now have the opportunity to access clean water.  Thank you on behalf of everyone at ‘Just a Drop’.”

At their recent AGM and General Meeting, BWCA Members were asked to donate with their registration raising £800.  During the evening supper, BWCA Members played a fun elimination game, resulting in another £800.  The BWCA is well on the way to raising funds for another borehole!

BWCA Chairman John Dundon:  “We will be arranging another charity auction at our 2017 event in March, and trade show events to encourage giving to this worthy cause.  I’m delighted that the BWCA is involved in this corporate social responsibility programme, which has the full support of the Executive Council.”.
