AFIFAE – welcomes new President

June 28, 2016

Robert Kadijevic, CEO Chateaud’eau, a subsidiary of Eden Springs,  was unanimously elected as President of AFIFAE (French Industry Association of Water Fountains) at their meeting on Thursday 26th May, following the resignation of François Gilleron.  Mr Kadijevic, formerly CEO of France Pelican Rouge, has held various positions in sales and marketing at Mars Inc. and the vending industry.

Beatrice Brandt from Elis was elected as Vice-President and Didier Dutbilleux of Culligan as Treasurer.

AFIFAE has 10 member companies and represents 75% of the market sector.  It aims in particular to play a role of collective expertise, disseminating standards of quality and hygiene among operators in the sector and promote the benefits of good hydration in the workplace.  It also represents the industry with the French Government.

Also, at the meeting possible future taxation on bottled water in France was discussed and AFIFAE will be monitoring this issue closely.    Currently, this legislative initiative, led by the socialist MP Michel Lesage, and supported by a vast number of MPs, aims to tax bottled water to fund the fight for drinkable water.   This tax would be about 0,5 cent/ litre and AFIFAE has implemented a lobbying strategy to fight against this measure.

Members were also updated on the coming ban on plastic cups: following the Spanish detailed opinion, the notification period has been postponed until August 29th.

AFIFAE is pleased to welcome the 2016 WE event in Paris from October 19th to October 21st, and contributing to its success.
