Please tell us a little about Cosmetal, how long it has been manufacturing, its ownership and anything else of interest to readers

  • Piergiorgio Burattini

Cosmetal was founded at the end of the 1950's and has specialized in the design and manufacture of water dispensers for the last 30 years. The company began working with water bottles and became one of the first companies in Italy to explore point of use water dispensers in the late 1970’s. Cosmetal is an integral part of the history of this sector, a prestigious brand that combines tradition with innovation and that is currently heading towards a big new challenge: water boilers.

  • WE

Could you give us some background on how long you personally have been in the industry and your role within Cosmetal?

  • Piergiorgio Burattini

I joined Cosmetal in 2006 as Export Area Manager. Working in the field allowed me to understand the fundamentals of the market and identify the upcoming trends. The expertise I gained during my years in sales led me to have growing responsibilities up to the role of Sales and Marketing Director in 2013.

What are the products that Cosmetal manufacturers that are most interesting for a watercooler company and what innovations have there been recently?

  • Piergiorgio Burattini

We have one of the broadest and most complete ranges in the industry, with models for the home, the office, the outdoors and restaurants. Our key success factor relies in being able to satisfy any need in relation to water provision. With the recent PRO STREAM instant water boiler we now have a truly complete range. However, we keep on innovating in the field of water coolers with HI CLASS. HI-CLASS, as the name suggests, is a high-end cooler combining design, technology and top quality materials.

  • WE

How can a watercooler distributor/WE member gain from using Cosmetal products?

  • Piergiorgio Burattini

Cosmetal has a highly attentive approach towards its customers – based on a spirit of collaboration, support and partnership – which ensures that we are constantly in tune with their needs.

  • WE

Do you have any general comments about the watercooler industry in Italy and in Europe?

  • Piergiorgio Burattini

Although markets are quite different in terms of structure and products, there is a common request for innovation. For instance we are experiencing a growing interest for sparkling water on both bottled and point of use models. Cosmetal bottled water coolers with sparkling water are offering a big new business opportunity within this product segment.
